KINGSVILLE ROUNDABOUT PROJECT NOW COMPLETE
All aspects of the project are now finished

Lynchburg, Va. – All work for the Kingsville Roundabout project on Route 15 at Route 133 (Kingsville Road) is complete. Traffic has been moving through the roundabout since August 17, while crews finished work surrounding the circle.

On Monday, October 31, Virginia Secretary of Transportation Sheppard Miller was among many distinguished guests on hand to officially celebrate the project during a ribbon cutting ceremony. Other dignitaries included Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) member Bert Dodson; Virginia Senator Mark Peake, (R) 22nd District; Delegate Thomas C. Wright, Jr., (R), 61st District; Prince Edward County Administrator Doug Stanley; Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors Chair Dr. Odessa Pride, and Prince Edward County District 1 Supervisor Dr. Peter Gur.

Route 15 carries roughly 12,000 vehicles per day and roundabouts have been proven a safe option for intersections, often safer even than those controlled with traffic signals.

Prince Edward County submitted a request for the project through SMART SCALE - a process that helps Virginia meet its most critical transportation needs using limited tax dollars - in 2019 to make the roadway safer. Total cost of the project is roughly $2.8 Million.

Early completion of the project would not have been possible without VDOT’s dedicated employees, the project contractor Virginia Carolina Paving, NXL, the project’s inspector, and to the public for their patience during the construction phase.
